I'd bet money that the last one is the 1.1. It just has that signature Voigtlander bokeh that I've seen in the 40 and 35 f/1.4 lenses.

That said, I'd be quite happy with any of these, *for this particular shot*. I've seen the 1.1 look dreadful under certain conditions.

This has been quite interesting, the answer is: #Noctilux f/1, Noctilux f/0.95, Nokton f/1.1# (Click and drag the mouse over it to see).
Nokton and Noctilux f/1 are very similar (I had to go back to lightroom to make sure I was giving the right answer), but I think the rendering of the bokeh balls, especially off-center, is quite different.

Yes, and the Nokton is much sharper stopped down.

Leica M5, Nokton f/1.1 @ f/2, 400-2TMY.

This makes me very happy as I just picked up a used Nokton for very little money. And it seems 3rd time is a charm! I bought this lens twice before but both those copies were duds.
This one is a cracker.

Yes I wasn't looking at sharpness as much as I was the coma as well. the F1.1 has such a harsh coma compared to the F1.

You can spot the 0.95 from a mile a way... worst bokeh I EVER seen on the edges (last 1/3) of any lens. I know this only because I owned one for five years. Do not miss that lens one bit. Junk.

Never owned the .095; but did own the Zunow .1 for 3 years, and sold it for the same reason you did. In 1967 when I got it; the Zunow was priced as any normal lens; until the collectors many years later got production numbers??? Not worth the new advertised selling price today. I only wish the Nockton was available back 1967, as I would still be using it today.

Yeah I'll stick with my 58/1.4G. It's cheaper, has AF, less facial distortion close up, focuses closer, etc. I suspect that people buying anything that ends with Lux are not bothering to check comparisons.

Yeah, I'll stick with my Pentax 55/1.8. It's cheaper than the 58/1.4G, has MF, about the same facial distortion close up, focuses closer, etc. I suspect that people buying anything that ends with 1.4G are not bothering to check comparisons.

Some of you guys seem to believe everything that is on the internet, how about you telling me which is the sharpest of the three at f/5.6?

No offense, but when it is a trusted company like lensrentals doing the testing on an Imagemaster Optical Bench, I believe that over anything else.

I bought the Nokton because I got one dirt cheap. And from what I've seen so far I am delighted with it. I can buy a Noctilux but just cannot do it, as I do not see any extra value for me at a price tag that is 20 times greater.
Others have disagreed with me and that is cool too.

I'll stick with my Minolta 58 1.2. It is just wikkid.
But maybe I'll get the 58 1.4 for those lazy AF days..
