canadian distributor?

Richard is a talented web searcher, as I spent some time looking last night too, and failed. But the site may not be very up-to-date, as they announce the 35 Nokton will be coming in Spring 2003!

i noticed that too doug!
i also did some web searching but couldn't find it either.

i know the distribution has been a problem here before and hope that merrica sticks with it. they don't seem to carry anything else which worries me. i don't think the cv line is all that big a seller here in edmonton. i checked out some of the websites of some of the dealers in canada and they seem to carry a full line of products so maybe it sells well elsewhere in canada. i hope so...

I too wouldn't think CV products are enough to support them, and they imply a wider range in this statement:

"Merrica Trading is a dynamic global import/export company. It was established to provide its business partners with easy access to innovative products from all over the world. Our experienced staff has an expertise in both Western and Eastern Europe as well as in Asia.

Our main trading partners include USA, Japan and Germany."

But then when you click on Products, only Voigtlander shows up, with a lot of empty room for others. Same at the Registration page, where the pop-up menu lists only Voigtlander with a long emptiness down to "Other".

The 35 Nokton announcement implies too that the site hasn't been kept current for over a year at least, so perhaps things haven't worked out as hoped so far for Merrica...

They do list dealers, three in Vancouver and one each in Calgary and Edmonton. Joe, does McBain have Voigtlander products in stock? I don't find any mention of Voigtlander on their website.

doug,

i'm hoping they have neglected their website cause their so damned busy adding other products and keeping up with cv orders, lol!

mcbain does have some stuff but i think it may be from the original distributor. i don't know how much they had but i bought the only r/35/75 they had in stock. i think they may have a 50 or 28 left in the display case. i'm afraid to look. i was told they could get anything i wanted, they were however unsure who would actually repair the camera if anything were to happen to it.
like i said, i don't think it's a big seller and the questions may not have come up before.
i know some of the guys there pretty well and hope to ask more questions next time i pop in.

their website is lacking in info on lots of stuff they carry - too bad. did you notice the prices on any of the leica stuff - it's scary!
