Canadians: Does anyone know Cariboulab?

Today I found this website on the Internet by sheer chance: http://www.cariboulab.com/

It seems to be a legit Canadian boutique lab that I have never noticed. Well, the prices are not as low as I like them to be, but they do deep and dunk in XTOL with push processing at the same price as C-41.

I would like to know if you have every used their services, and whether you are satisfied.

If I add he taxes, the markup I have to pay to send my film there is considerable. But if this helps the local business thrive, I don't see why I wouldn't pay that extra.

I've not heard of this lab, but their website is nicely put together and is informative and entertaining. I must give them a try sometime, although I'm on the west coast and mailing costs would be involved. Right now I use Kerrisdale Camera in the Vancouver area and they have a van running from store to store every day, so service (film to disc) is very fast and fairly priced...TW

I would love to support these guys in my city, but unfortunately it's a bit far to go for development at those prices (45 minutes by car). Mailing negs back for $20 is nuts unless you're dealing with a bunch of rolls at once.

Apparently they can keep the films for 3 consecutive development orders or for three months. You will get a link to download the scanned images. Maybe every 3 months you can go fetch the films. 😉
