Canadians - where are you buying film?

Does anyone remember or know of the name of a film supplier in Quebec, that had great prices?

I usually buy from Vistek when they have sales. No sales right now.

btw - I've loaded up a roll of 220, and have been shooting around the neighbourhood. Feels good. Good solid sound of a Hasselblad - music to my ears.

I buy processing included slide film at my local lab - works out to be about half price for the film itself. I always get my B&W from the local camera stores in town. It's really not too expensive and a much nicer experience than ordering online.

Vickko, Photo Service on Notre Dame in old Montreal seems to have a good selection, I even saw a few bulk rolls last time I was there (Fp4). But they weren't cheap. For color film, I use plain old Fuji Superia 400, 6 x 24 exposures for about $13.00 at Costco. Their processing is great too.

I think Photogdave might have better selection at Beau photo (stuff like Efke films and Foma), than we do in Quebec. They will ship too (I believe). Besides that, if you "bulk roll" I think Freestylephoto (in Califorina I think) has the best selection and prices. What a drag our dollar has just taken a major hit.

McBain's or Don's Photo. This is in Edmonton. McBain's, I think, is Alberta only and Don's is Winnipeg west so this will be of little use to anyone east. McBain's has a better selection of 120 instore but Don's has a good webstore. Vistek never seems to have stock but is only two blocks from the main McBain's!

I buy locally from a camera shop in my small Northern Ontario city. I occasionally work for them so I get a discount.

120 and 4x5 I usually buy from Beau. 35mm is almost always bought online. If I see a good deal online I'll buy it no matter what it is. I wish I could buy all my film from the store, but even with my student discount, film is so much cheaper online its hard to shop local for everything.

I use Fuji Superia 400 more than anything else and it's available all over the place. I buy it from Carsand-Mosher downtown because it's convenient and I like to support a real no-foolin' photography store.

I've bought stuff online in the past, but for the amount of shooting I do (maybe a roll a week) and the film I use, it's not really worth it.

Could you guys get together and force one of the Canadian sellers to import Arista premium?

I posted a while ago about a bulk purchase of Arista premium but someone mentioned that the shipping would be too expensive... :bang:
