Canon 100mm f/3.5 lens

Can someone share some experiences about this lense. Is it any good or should I look elsewhere?

This is a best kept secret lens. It is very sharp and small. It is one Canon's best bargains.

I used one for awhile and maybe it was me or the Model P's inherent design, but I couldn't focus it properly. I sold it and got an 85.

How is it regarding flare? In particular compared with 90mm lenses - especially interested in how it compares with the Voigtlander 90mm Color-Heliar.

I just lost my job and buying old esoteric lenses propably isn't the most sensible thing to do right now. On the other side, I have three unopened bulk rolls of b&w in my freezer and plenty of time.

You won't regret getting this fine lens. It's as sharp as a tack for me, and great for reach when street shooting.

Thanks for the compliment! This little lens is under rated as it isn't exactly blazing fast and has a focal length most other camera does not have a frameline for. Shame.

Ha Ha! That's part of the 100mm f/3.5 assortment I gather over the last 10 months. Regrettably, most of those off ebay that were described as optically perfect were flawed in one way or another.

Finally I managed to shoot a test roll with my new Canon 100mm/3.5. I was a little concerned that it might be a soft example (as some members have pointed out) but I think these photos are sharp enough for me 😛
