Canon 100mm f/3.5 lens

Benny, thanks for the link to that thread. There are some wonderful pictures in it, certainly enough to convince me that I have been unjustly ignoring my 100/3.5.

I used one for awhile and maybe it was me or the Model P's inherent design, but I couldn't focus it properly. I sold it and got an 85.

How is it regarding flare? In particular compared with 90mm lenses - especially interested in how it compares with the Voigtlander 90mm Color-Heliar.

Thanks for your great insight. I snapped up the 100mm/3.5. Thanks for supporting my GAS 🙄

I just lost my job and buying old esoteric lenses propably isn't the most sensible thing to do right now. On the other side, I have three unopened bulk rolls of b&w in my freezer and plenty of time.

Thanks for the compliment! This little lens is under rated as it isn't exactly blazing fast and has a focal length most other camera does not have a frameline for. Shame.

Someone must like this lens a lot:

Sorry if this photo is old news for you. I just stumbled upon this while searching for information.

Ha Ha! That's part of the 100mm f/3.5 assortment I gather over the last 10 months. Regrettably, most of those off ebay that were described as optically perfect were flawed in one way or another.

That's Benny Ng's flickr page! He posted above linking to his previous thread about the lens. Well, I guess he's the expert on them!

I'm no expert. But I do like this lens very much. 😀

Cheers,
