canon 135/3.5 questlon

Is there any real difference in optical performance between earlier chrome Canon 135/3.5's and the later black version?

Hoping to hear from users who have used both. Thanks in advance.

I think from memory all the Canon 135mm f3.5 lenses in LTM have the same optical formula. But as the other post says the black one is much lighter. I had both and sold the chrome one (which never the less is a very pretty lens) for this reason. There is also an early Canon which was marketed under the name of Serena as was all of their early lenses. This was a 135mm f4 lens in chrome which is physically smaller than either of the lenses labelled Canon and does not have quite the same reputation for sharpness. I had one of these too but always had problems with using it on a Leica M with adapter as it never seemed to focus accurately. I have not had the same problem with either of the later Canon marked lenses.
