This is OK. Better than having to repair camera or lens.

I also used this lens a lot with film, and it was -always- great. Got to be the sensor.

It is one of my favorite lenses for film cameras. It just does not work well with the M9 sensor.

This is what I was looking for. My test a few years ago when I tried my 19 with a M9 resulted in much of the same things. I just now would like to know if it is any better than on the new M.

I doubt it. The sensor will not be receiving light all across in an even way.

The 21/3.4 SA also has the vignetting/banding on the M9. It must be the proximity of the rear element to the sensor.

The sensor is thinner than the film, and this is maybe the source of the problem. Retro-focus design lenses are fine on the M9.
