Certainly a sharp lens with good color rendition... and you get a lot more pop out of Portra than I ever do. There's some very noticeable vignetting on the right side in some of the shots but not all.
Here's why I like the Canon lens - this flare is how the scene really looked. With say the CV 21/4 and even some modern Leica lens, I would get droplets here:
Very nice test roll. They are beautiful lenses. Not as good as modern 28's optically, but their build quality and compact size really compensate for that. I used to own one, which I sold a long time ago, but now I want one again!
Yes, they are very nice. Depends on what you compare with. I can think of several modern ones with worse flare, or more distortion. The one modern one I've had with better contrast for color though was the Hexanon 28, but that was about double the size or more, and not as nice for b/w.
