I just wanted to ask if many Canon collectors out there have the Canon 28mm CT lens. Just wanted to know if there is much out there.

I would guess there aren't many to be had, having only seen a couple on eBay over the last 10 years. There was one that was not properly identified or described, and it went fairly cheap. I was away, and didn't find it until the sale was over.
They would appeal to Nikon/Contax users, since that is the mounting on the lens. I wouldn't mind owning one for my Contax, but can't really justify the price. This is one of those items that you have to buy when you find it, if you have the price in hand, IMHO. Chances of a bargain are probably slim to none.
Harry (interested to see how many there might be, as well. Peter??)

Steve Gandy states on the Cameraquest website that production of this lens is estimated to be 200.

Thanks for the reply Harry. So I can say at $475.00 USD is a bargin then, also being serial number #10009.

WOW.... a bargain, and one of the first off what was probably a short production run. A really great find. A lot of Contax/Canon guys would be happy to give you a nice profit on that one

HI Guys,
Afraid I bought that 28mm f/3.5 CT lens as a fellow Canon collector sent me a query about it and I didn't hesitate when I saw the Buy Now option. Alas, as I had been alerted to the lens I gave him the option of buying it of me at the advertised price, which he did so my chance was gone at owning one. I have recorded only 10 of these lenses with the lowest serial #10009 and the highest #10342. So as you can see not many were made. Thats life. Peter K
