Hi Guys,

Greetings!

I acquired a Canon 35/2 LTM a few months ago and really enjoying it but not the effort of finding a filter that will fit this lens. It seems that the 40mm filters are very rare these days. I found one from JapanExposures but not sure if it'll work since it is not the slim type. Has anyone of you already tried using this normal type of 40mm UV filter on your Canon 35/2 LTM without vignette issues? I'm not sure if this question has been answered before, if yes kindly direct me to the thread relating to this question. Thank you in advance for the help that I will get from you guys!

Most of us buy a step up ring to use a more common filter size.
I use a 40->43 ring. Screw-in hoods are also easier to find.
Heavystar seems to be a popular supplier through their website or ebay store and they're very affordable.

I don't think the slim type is necessary. I have an old Walz 40mm filter, which is a normal type. I haven't noticed any vignetting. I don't use it though because it was causing flare in certain situations, presumably because it is not coated (or has inferior coating).

+1. I have several Canon LTM lenses that take 40mm filters. Although I have a couple of 40mm skylight filters, I've gone the route described above, which I think is better if you're looking for filters to shoot with and not simply collect.

Great! Will do as what you've suggested guys! Appreciate the help!
