I've got a Canon 35/2 LTM lens and wanted to know if a generic 55x20mm hood will work w/ it without any problems?
Many thanks,
Bill

The 35/2 will accept a 42mm clamp-on hood.

My most used 35mm lens (so small!).
I have never used a hood with it but I'm in the UK and the sun does not always shine.....

They are certainly available at a cost ($$) on eBay, but I have some generic hoods and just wondered if I could use them.

I'd say try a sample shot with and without the generic hood mounted. If it works without significant vignetting, you're good.

I don't think Canon ever made a specific lens hood for this because of the recessed front element. Looking in P. Kitchingman's Canon lens book, there is no hood specifically made, although you certainly could use one.

I discovered (to my delight) that the lens hood from my Fuji X10 works perfectly.

I used an inexpensive 40 to 40.5 step up ring from AliExpress, and then a generic wide angle screw in 40.5 hood
