Canon 35mm/1.5 on ebay .... close to $600 already!

I believe that currently a clean Canon 35/1.5 is worth $400-$600 in the current market.

I'd say that is a very fair assessment. Again looking at the bid history that is about where the more experienced bidders dropped out and let the two obsessed ones go at it.

OT: raid, I hope to meter like that on the beach, do you use a hand held? sorry to hi-jack the thread, but the exposure is perfect.

Hi Matt,
Who needs metering in such light.
It is mostly a Sunny 16-22 rule here at the beach. I use F16 to get the sand really white, and use F22 when it is really bright.

S16 of course! Oh how I would like to be at the beach right now... greetings from Michigan. (I wish there was an emoticon for shivering, I'll use the closest thing) 🙁.

Good thing I actually like winter for the first 6 weeks!

Fed 3/Industar 26: (a combo that will probably never spark a bidding war)

.......this lens was always a bit of the rarer side of Canon RF lenses and always demanded a higher price than the f2 and the other wides of the time.

Much like the f0.95/50 (selling for less then $600 less than 10 years ago) this lens has achieved a cult staus with RD-1/M8/9 users, and I suppose just like that "over hyped" Wetzlar Ver 4 Summicron f2/35 it will be out of the reach of most people shortly.......

I perdicted that the NEXT ONE just like the f1.5/35 to go nutz pricewise will be the Canon f1.2/50 in LTM ~ it TOO got a bad rap for being *too soft* and a under performer (with film) but with the mass influx of Digital RF the lens and advanced postprocessing performance, it has become another mover.....so get's yours while you still can! 😀

Tom,
I have the Canon 1.5 trio: 35-50-85, and I am glad that I got those hard to get lenses while I could.

I think? I might know where a f1.5/85 is still? I have to ask the owner and 1950's sports photographer in Ca.

I don't remember seeing shots taken with that one Raid, do you have some portaits online? ~ I bet it has a nice signature? (it's another uncommon/rare? Canon RF lens)

The f1.5/50 is in my honest opinion is MOST IMPORTANT lens they made in the 1950's (the best shooting signature of the Sonnar copies/alot easier to find then a real CZJ f1.5 Sonnar T in LTM)

Along with the f1.2/50 it has a great signature and really makes for fun Photography, weither or not film RF or digital RF, two of the finest lenses made for shootin' 😀

OK Finally Some Flare.

OK Finally Some Flare.

I figured the "street light" test would do it. Straight up into the light.

I have the Canon 19mm F3.5, 35mm F1.5, 50mm F1.2, and 85mm F1.5 . Use all of them quite a bit.

Tom: the 85mm 1.5 offers me an alternative lens that is very different from the Canon 85mm/1.2L or the Summilux 75mm/1.4. Some call this lens a "dog".

Here area few snapshots with the 85mm lens.
