Canon 35mm f 2 on Leica IIIf

I am in love with the lens. Consistent good results for me. The last pic on the blog entry is without PP and shows how good the lens is wide open in my opinion.

However, picking up on some of what is said above, I am loking forward to trying out the Canon 35/1.8 when I recieve the one I recently bought.

Yep Raid...i will say somethng really incorrect in this forum...the canon 1.8 beat up in every way the lux preasph...crucify me...🙂 please don´t ever tell i said that...i´ll deny it...

My canon 35/1.8 beat up my 35 summilux. I wondered what all the hype surrounding the summilux was about....until I had DAG adjust it for focus. It was a no contest once i received the summilux back.

I sold the canon.

Having a lens adjusted by someone like DAG can result in awesome results. Don adjusted by Canon 50/1.2 that was performing poorly. It now is a sharp lens.

I have the Summilux too. It is a better lens than any of my Canon 35mm lenses (1.5, 1.8, 2, 2.8). Still, I do not sell the lenses.

I recently recieved a Zorki 1 in the mail... first thing I did was slap my Canon 35/2 on it. Though, my copy has coating separation... wonder how that'll turn out 😉

Your photos got me wondering... how do you process your film? They're so fine and contrasy!

Actually, you're not the first person to reach this conclusion. A few years ago a member here (I forget who) posted a series of photos comparing a "lux and a Canon 35/1.8 (and maybe one other 35), and the Canon more than held its own agt. the lux.

I've got the 35/1.8 and have recently acquired a version II 35/2.0, so the OP's thread and blog are of great interest. I really like using the 35/1.8 on my Leica IIIc. I haven't used the 35/2.0 on my IIIc yet, but that's coming.

Thanks again for the responses.
The film was processed by my pro lab in Old St, so I'm not sure exactly how.... But as you can see from the blog it is 'LOMO 100 Earl Grey film', which I discovered is FOMOPAN 100 Classic. Rathed 00 iso but I rated it as 200 (London in the Autumn).
