Canon 35mm f2.8 growing on me... But...

My Canon 35mm f2.8 lens is growing on me...
At first, I was having a little trouble framing things, but
it's getting better, me thinks...

Does anyone ever notice a swirl type distortion in the corners
though? I seem to get that sometimes when I catch front
bokeh with the subject at infinity at large apertures... (f2.8 & 4 anyway)
is this normal?

I don't know if I'd call it distortion. It's the way this lens renders an OOF area. I'm not surprised it's more noticeable at F2.8 or F4.0. Personally, I like different looking bokeh. It can give an image some character.

Yeah I think I've only had one shot where I'd really say it
detracted from the photo. Unfortunately, it was probably my
best photo from this lens 🙄
