The Nokton is a fantastic lens and in fact becoming a more desirable option lately with the skyrocketing cost of the Summicron (and the astronomical cost of a Summilux!).

The Nokton must be the most under-rated lens on the market. I use mine on the M9, it is a great match for low-light. It is much sharper than either of my Canon 50/1.2's and much lighter than my Canon 50/0.95's. As for the Bokeh- it has it's own character. If Cosina discontinues it, prices will skyrocket.

I have both but have not conducted exhaustive tests. I would say, based on what I have seen that the Nokton is sharper wide open but the Canon has nicer bokeh. Both are good for their purpose butI usse the Voigtlander much more - in fact its on my M8 almost all the time, even trumping my Leica glass (mainly summicrons). It is not as sharp as the latter but is pretty good and I like the shallow depth of field when shot full open.

A shot taken with the Canon wide open. Very soft OOF.

I have both (and the big Canon .095 as well), but I prefer the Nokton. I too dislike the OOF areas when shooting the Canon wide open, and I think the Nokton simply makes more pleasant images.
