I don't think that they were shot wide open, more like at around f2 or 2.8.

Nice big lens can get some good results.

Here's another 50/1.2 shot, wide open just after sunrise. It looks light on one of my monitors, dark on another. I'd be grateful if you could tell me how it looks on yours.

Roger, that looks very nice. The colors are very natural, and on my monitor the image is perhaps just a little light.
What about the bokah?

Thanks. It looks light on 2 out of 4 of my monitors (Iiyama, Hyundai) and dark on the other two (HP, old Toshiba LCD portable). I think the ones where it looks light are probably nearer the average. Thanks VERY MUCH for the feedback.
Can I try the world on this too, another 50/1.2 shot attached -- an old one of Cologne/Koeln.

It looks like a very nice lense! And Neopan is a very good film. I rate it at 1000, though, which preserves the shadow detail nicely. And I too, use d76 - mixed 1:4 with agitation every 1 minute for 16 minutes.

For the record, I really liked using this lens. It is big, but it felt good on my M6 and having some size to grab onto it was very easy to use. I bought a simple Kalt metal hood (non vented) and used a Yellow K2 filter on the lens. I will not hesitate to have it in the bag when I need lots of speed.

It could just be my monitor - but it looks like you might be losing some shadow detail. The mid tones and highlights look pretty good. And overall, nice images.
I arrived at my "recipe" by shooting film tests and printing at minimum print time. I'll try to get around to scanning in some images late in the week.

Thanks to everyone for the monitor information: it sounds as if between you, you have about he same variation in your monitors as I have in mine. Yes, the Cologne shot was hand held and yes, it has flared out in the original. And yes, I still have the lens.
Here's another hand-held night shot (Paris) with severe camera shake -- my wife Frances Schultz shot it and she has a 'benign essential tremor' -- but it still has a certain charm. This looks OK on the Iiyama but dark on the HP. That's me in the shot.
