Reviving an older thread. Does anybody know if the lens can be adjusted so that it doesn't extend so easily? Mine doesn't seem to keep its collapsed position, and will extend if the camera is tilted forward. Which happens more often than you think, since the lens is rather front heavy, especially on a smaller screwmount body.
Anyway, here are a two examples, both shot using a Leica IIIf, Canon Serenar 50mm f/1.9, Kodak 400TX.

On most collapsible lenses the drag on the barrel is created by a ring of felt inside the base. You would need to remove the barrel from the base, lift out the old worn felt, and replace it. I do this on any collapsible I service, using self-adhesive felt from a craft store. Quite easy to do - all you need is a ruler and a razor, plus whatever you need to disassemble the lens.

Thank you for the tip, 02Pilot! Your blog post about this lens inspired me (in more ways than one, and for better or worse) to find a copy of this lens.

Try some dielectric grease on the lens barrel and in the guiding slot. Mine started sliding too freely after I cleaned the barrel with alcohol, but the heavier grease won't run and slows the sliding down, and is not supposed to migrate.Reviving an older thread.
