I have a leica iif on it's way to me . I also own a Industar 22 as an option. The other is the 50/1.9 ,a Canon. I never read much of anything on either one. But these represent my entire collapsible collection. Any fans of one or the other?

I had a Canon 50/1.9 some years back, but sold it. It's a typical 1950's 50mm lens. Soft wide-open but sharpening up nicely by F2.8. Personally, I prefer my Nikkor 50/2.0 in LTM mount.

I really like the Canon 50/1.9, warts and all. Yes, it is very soft wide open, but that's just an option that's available when you want it, not a requirement. Contrast is on the low side. The glass and coatings should be more durable than the contemporary Leica options.
Wide open:
Not wide open (probably around f/4 or f/5.6, I'm guessing):
The I-22 should give you pretty typical Tessar rendering. I don't have one (I have the preceding FED 50/3.5, also known as the I-10), but they seem to have a good reputation. Very small, but that's probably the only real benefit over the Canon.
