Kiu: Your 1.1 is sharper than you think it can be. However, it is your lens, and you may have more experience with it than I ever had. I managed to get a few sharp shots with this lens.

It is a little soft at 1.1, but this gets better at 2.0:

How can you get at 2.0 a sharp image when using the Contax adapter? I don't know how much off focusing should be when using a Nikkor lens with such an adapter when it is meant for a Nikon camera.

How can you get at 2.0 a sharp image when using the Contax adapter?

Believe me with this lens there is a looooong way between 1.1 and 2.0, the diaphram is half way closed @f2.0!!
I am assuming theses pictures were taken with the V/C Bessa R2s? Is that what you mean by Contax adapter?
The images you emailed me,all taken with the S2 I provided for this comparison(since Raid doesn't have a Nikon RF),were way out of focus.
I like to make it clear that the two lousy images I provided were for test purposes only.I was testing the lens at minimum distance wide open for focusing accuracy, all this was being done indoors with a 12 exp. roll of expired Kodak film without tripods. I didn't even use a meter I estimated exposure time and used lower speeds to make sure I donn't under expose. I may have been off a couple of stops.
I am simply implying that the initial images taken with the S2 were so bad that it looked like there was something wrong.

Yes, I meant Mark's Bessa R2C camera. I am sure that you will eventually have a 100% confident assessment of the lens's focusing. The images with the S2 [taken by me] were very bad indeed. I hope, for your sake, that I did not allign the distance settings in lens and camera.
