Great shot of the ME-262. There is one in the Smithsonian Air and Space next to a WW-II vintage P80 Shooting Star. I'll have to bring the 50/1.2 next time I go there.

Asbestos in Joint Compound- very low levels, not like asbestos siding in the 60s. Yeah, I know a lot about that from working in old buildings put up in the 50s. I hope some sense is used.

My copy front focus when I use on the rd1s. But focus is spot on when I use it on my film bodies. What could be the problem? Anyone encountered this?

Interesting! Must be a 1.2 thing - I have a Pentax 50/1.2 that behaves similarly when swapped between film and digital bodies. Fine with film, front-focuses with digital.

I came close to selling lens this recently, but I'm happy to have held on to it.

Here's a sample from my last roll, f/1.2, 1/8 (hand held), HP5+, LC29 1+29.

This lens has some of the well-known imperfections, but not too bad, I think. 🙂

Thanks Tom - I wish I had some subjects like you work with, but alas I have to make do with what I have! 🙂

Someone told me today the ME-262 is one of only six remaining complete examples left in one piece. The nice thing about this one is that it is largely in unrestored condition, like it just returned from a mission.

No (German) U-Boats, but there is a display made up from the remains of two pf the Japanese midget-submarines that were sunk in the attack on Sydney Harbour in 1942. Unfortunately the museum lighting is set up to portray a gloomy mood appropriate to remembering those dark times, and not conducive to photography. I'll see what I can get on my next visit.

ME-163 "Comet". The Smithsonian has one as well. Crazy Airplane. I'll have to scan some more shots from the Udvar Hazy in. They have part of an HO-229 Jet powered flying wing.

I missed a Chance to buy a Canon7s with 50/2.8........dreaming allready of a 1.2......but someone took his chance and bought it before I was back in the store.........and then seeing this amazing Picture, I just have to cry out.

Canon P, 50/1.2, BW400CN

Once I had this Canon 50mm f/1.2, but I finally sold it for a Summaron 35mm f/2.8. I think this lens is a beauty, but I did not know how to use it. I did not like the B&W results : much too 'milky' to me. I prefered the results with color slides, and of course I found the bokeh gorgeous.

One of my favorite lenses is the Canon 35mm f/1.5, and I believe the results look like the one I got with the 50mm f/1.2. Always better in colors than in B&W.

Of course this is only my opinion, and I'm really impressed by some of the pics I've seen in this thread.

Some shots from my first roll with Canon P + 50mm f/1.2. Film is Kodak EPT 160ISO.

I've shot about 4 rolls now. Still getting the hang of this beast. Definitely a learning curve. I would say that generally, mine is very soft wide open, which is not surprising, I sort of expected this.
