Hi all ,
Had to take the top off my Canon 7 as the light collecting window had come adrift .
Before i took the top off i did my research into non working selenium meters
and read that sometimes meters can be brought back to life with "Deoxit" .
So decided to purchase a tube and give it a go , for the sake of £5 !!
Took the top off , re-glued the window , and gave all the soldered connections of the light meter a small drop of deoxit , left it for 5 minutes ,dried off any excess with a cotton bud , put the top back on , pointed it at the light and hey presto the needle sprang into life :D:D:D.
Regards
Graham............

Good to hear! I wonder if that's the way they repair them in California, where a famous light meter repairman lives...

Now... do you calibrate it? How?

Hi ,
Not sure if you can calibrate these light meters . According to sunny 16 it's reading about a stop over , but i can live with that !! lol

Mine had issues that I traced back to the range switch that is operated with the little wheel next to the eyepiece. Cleaning the contacts and bending the spring to give it some pressure again revived it.
