Canon 7s battery questions

There are a lot of posts on battery options and I have tried to read through them and apologies if this has been covered. I just wanted to see what people are using and what are the best options for the battery in the Canon 7s.

I thought that the MR-9 battery adapter was the best option,
but it seems there is a possibility of short because the battery contact of Canon 7s is too large??

Any tips or your experience would be great, thanks.

I purchased several Mercury PX-625 button batteries back when they were discontinued that I still use (keep stored in the refrigerator). In lieu of that, I use my trusty hand-held Gossen Luna Pro-F meter.

My 7s meter is DEAD ON matches up with my M6 all the time, the Canon meters were/are great meters, just sadly only go to ASA400 🙁
