Canon F1.2 on CV Bessa R?

Great shots, Silva. I have been looking at the R3A, but now also, the Bessa-T. I have run my first roll through the Bessa-R, and it works😎 WOOOW the "look" is there, the paper-thin DOF, etc. The Bessa-R is doing an adaquate job, I think the Bessa-T could be used for really critical use with this lens. I'm also tempted by the R3A😎

All right. Here's my effort. The Canon 50mm F1.2 wide open. I get a large number of keepers with this lens. Who says the RD1 can't focus?

Finally got a chance to hit the local photo junk stores. Found an original Canonet lenshood in a junkbox, with a busted-off setscrew. Can easily fix that, the hood cost me one dollar:angel:

The hood fits perfectly on the 1.2 Canon, and looks good😎

I'm on my third roll through my two Bessa-R cameras, so far everything seems to be working well. BTW I just won an auction for the original Canon 55mm 1.2 filter and lenscap, so now I am about all set. Maybe a Canon rear cap?

Rex, if you are interested, I have a Canonet lenshood I'll be selling which will work with your lens. Email me if you want more info.

I'll try to put some photos up here, if I have time to do so.

Hi All,

My Canon 1.2 original lenscap and 1.2 original filter have arrived. Both mint condition.

I'm slightly surprised to find out that when the 1.2 filter and 1.2 hood are installed, there is -no way- to attach the 1.2 lenscap.

Am I doing something wrong??

Nope, one of the reasons CV now proce caps which fit the hood rather than the lens. 😉

For quick shooting, it is a drag to use either the lens cap OR hood. Unfortunately,if you really need the hood, you have to depend on it to protect the lens while in the camera bag. Doesn't do much for dust (I can live with that) but scratches are another matter. Voightlanders solution is a lot better.

You can try to find a big cap for the hood. At least it's round!

Daniel: if I can remember my paypal password, I'll send you the $6

Yeah, the Canon filter isn't front-threaded, so your suggestion is a good one. A large plastic cap over the front of the hood will keep the dust off it. I'll have to look around, or find something that fits.

Rex,
If it is easier for you, send me six bucks in an envelope. I'm holding the hood for you. We will need to trade mailing addresses. You will probably want to find a cap to fit the Canonet shade. Send me another private email.
