Not to mention that the F1N is the most good looking slr ever made. The next best is the squarish but pro looking F1.

Not a couple of speeds, all the fast speeds from 1/90s work, like on the LX.

Not really. About 50% of the shutter speeds in the F1N are mechanical by design. Place a spare battery in your wallet, and enjoy the better camera!😀

Mechanical speeds on the F1N are 1/90, 125, 250, 500, 1000 and 2000. Slower speeds require the battery.

I don't see being dependent on battery is a problem for a 1980's professional camera that was designed to reach its full potential only when a motor drive is attached.
Just bring a spare battery, which could last you another year...not hard at all.

I’m still using 1.3V mercury batteries. I bought a small supply from a guy in Australia year’s back and store them in the fridge. 10 years+ and counting, and they’re still good.

No, all varieties of the F-1 use one battery.

a normal PX625.
It works fine because it has a bridge circuit like the Spotmatic.
F1 and F1n uses a small cell, the F1N a PX 28.

Are you sure about this? The Canon EF has a bridge circuit, but I don't believe it's true for any of the F-1's.

i use a 625A battery...an alkaline...my understanding is that the camera has been adjusted for this battery.
