I'm a big fan of the Canon FD system too. They were extremely good value for a while until the NEX system came out. Prices went up ever since.
Cheers,
Cheers,
For me, it'd be my two Thoriums, the FD 35/2.0 chrome-nose, and my FD 55/1.2 aspherical.

I agree! (I'm selling mine in the classifieds...). I love the New F-1. I'm selling because I am too shaky to use a camera without IS lenses without a tripod after having a stroke.
Well, functionally speaking, the original F-1 has it over the New F-1 in that the former works with no battery, whereas the latter is restricted to just a couple of shutter speeds with no battery.

Some serious heavyweights there, Joe's already complained about nearly putting his shoulder out with the 24FD

Not really. About 50% of the shutter speeds in the F1N are mechanical by design. Place a spare battery in your wallet, and enjoy the better camera!😀
speaking of batteries...what are you guys using for a battery?

No, all varieties of the F-1 use one battery.

a normal PX625......It works fine because it has a bridge circuit like the Spotmatic.......
Weren't there two batteries in the box?
