Canon lens on ebay

Hi all just found these on Bay, so got a coupla a questions!


50/1.4

50/1.8



Will they work on my Bessa R? Price aside, which would be the better one bearing in mind I would be prepared to open it up for a clean? or maybe they're no good at all?

Hi, I have the 50mm f1.8 and it is a stellar performer and is usually priced about $100USD. It's a nice compact little 50mm but it does have a slightly crazy rendition of the OOF areas. I've never used the f1.4, but I have the 1.2 and would recommend the f1.8 if I had to make a choice, cheers Andrew.

I am using the 1.8 Serenar on my Bessa R and it proved a great lens from the start! After I checked it with most of my FSU lenses who all have to be adpated the 1.8 was a pleasuer to use.
Obe of the great things is that the 1.8 Serenar (from the fifties as it came witha Canon IV SB) has F-stops so that you can change the aperture without having to take the camera from your eye.
Get one it's well worth the money
