Canon LTM Canon LTM 50mm 1.5 "Sonnar" Photos Please!

Canon M39 M39 screw mount bodies/lenses
Those are some nice photos Mr. Dourlbalistar, very impressive work.

+1 to ^^^^^. This sample of the Canon 50/1.5 is a keeper and is clearly in very good hands!

Thank you, Solinar and Bingley! I'm not sure about my hands, but this lens is definitely a keeper. I need to spend some more time with it, though. There were some shots on my first roll where I either missed focus, or fell victim to some focus shift.

That’s a lovely photo. The 50/1.5 really shines at f.4. And it’s excellent for landscapes and as an all-rounder, as well as for portraits.

Thank you, Bingley! I agree that f/4 is a sweet spot for this lens.

I remember seeing this shot on your Flickr feed. Very sharp with a nice bite to it!

I haven't tested mine in strongly backlit scenes yet, but I don't see any evidence of flare here. Really great contrast with the bright sun, but still plenty of detail in the shadows behind the wall.

Nice!! And not much distortion either...

Thank you, I really, really like this lens so far! Not much distortion as you noted, and I didn't add any corrections in post. I think this is kind of a boring photo actually, not one I would normally take. I mainly wanted to see how the lens rendered the repeating pattern of the chain link fence. IIRC, this was at f/4, so maybe I didn't open up the aperture enough for any "character" to happen. :p

The Canon 50mm f1.5 lens produces some of the best bokeh around, I prefer to to the Nikkor 5cm f1.4 lens in most cases.
