Canon LTM lens stuck on a P body

Hi, I've managed to get a 50 1.4 LTM stuck on my Canon P body mid mount. It's neither tight nor loose but jiggling somewhere in between and I can't seem to either fully mount or dismount the lens. It seems latched on to something behind on the lens mount. It's driving me nuts. I feel like it's something I can fix but don't know how...

If its of any significance, I was mounting it after dismounting an Industar 26 just to check how it sits on the lens mount. Any ideas on how to approach this? I've peered through the shutters, holding it down in B mode, but can't see what's holding the lens in place.

I would appreciate any tips o how to dislodge the lens. There isn't any trusty RF repairman for kilometres from where I am and would rather try any DIY solutions first. Thanks!
 
Is there a cutout shape on the RF cam (back of the lens) which is jamming with the tip of the RF arm (in the camera body) ? In that case it could be fixed by moving the RF arm gently back out of the way and, again gently, unscrewing the lens.

I am assuming that the camera body has a removable/openable back of course - from your description that seems to be the case.
 
As mentioned: Check the RF pickup, see if it slid under the RF cam of the lens. The Wheel could be out of position.

Otherwise, you will probably just have to make sure the infinity lock is engaged, and use a rubber mousepad to get a good grip on the lens to get it off, or send it in for a pro repairshop to do it. LTM lenses can get misthreaded, and threads can get damaged or dirty. The Canon mount is a strong one, and I've had to force lens off of it. I've never had a Canon lens do this, but plenty of Russian ones do so. I keep one non-functioning Canon RF to help straighten them out, forcing on and off the camera.
 
Another thing to try is to carefully hold the lens steady by gripping the rearmost portion of the barrel and turning the focusing ring toward minimum (closest) focus. This will retract the RF coupling cam into the lens barrel somewhat, possibly enough to clear any conflict it might have with the follower in the body.
 
Gents thank you for your suggestions. The RF arm issue seems to be close to a solution. It may have jarred off position when I mounted the Industar. I'll keep you posted...
 
I've gone to the extent of dismantling the lens from behind to see what's jamming the lens and couldn't find anything. A tech I spoke to mentioned that it could be a loose lens mount screw that's causing it. As for cross threading, there's really no give either way - loose or tight. There certainly is some other foreign metal object in there somewhere. I also pushed the Rf cutout all the way back while focused to infinity and there's still no give. I guess its off to the tech man for now...
