Does this exist? What is it? A buddy called me to say that he found one for sale, and want's to know more about it. I've never heard of it.

That is probably correct. Should I give him your 43mm yellow filter to use with it?

Appears to be a Canon EOS 35mm AF with motor-drive and flash. Russ, you should get this baby

Looking at the photo in the Ebay AD, it appears to be a "phony-baloney" rip off copy of Canon. There is no record on Canon's web site of a Model "MGM-1" ever being produced.
I've emailed the seller, advising him that he might be selling a fake Canon, and that the buyer might be "upset" after finding out.

It looks more like one of the new Russian or Chinese "SLR's", which look like SLR's, but are actually viewfinder cameras...if that thing retailed for 475$ anywhere outside of someone's wildest dreams, I would be astonished.

I received a reply from an email to the seller-
It has a 50mm f6.3 non-removable plastic ZOOM lens, is marked "Made in Japan" (LOL) and he "Thanks me for my input"
~ ; - )
There goes his Feedback ratio!!!!

Yup, it's one of those plastic viewfinder cameras. Seen them before. Tell your friend to stay away from it. A lot of people have been ripped off over similar items, just Google for 'Canomatic'...

I think I will. I need all the help I can get. My stuff has been sucking lately. Hey, the picture of you on your message icon, did you add the Sepia look. When I shot that one of you a couple of month's ago, wasn't I using Neopan 400?

Cool! Is that high tech talk for "Auto-focus"? In that case, I'm all over it. Harold, do you remember that Viv S-1 200mm f/3.5 auto-focus lens that I have? Well I have yet to use it! Don't tell Bograt. However, that Panagor (Kiron) 21mm f/3.5, is performing very well. And it uses the cheap 82mm filter's too....
I think Joe want's us to cruise up to Vanvouver, BC for the upcoming camera show. He hasn't said anything, but, I think that he want's to fondle my Vivitar ES too.

I think it might be even better....it might be what they call "fixed focus". That way, you don't have to focus at all!!

That's even better. Man, I love the technological advances these days. I might have to "take one for the group" and bid on that bad boy. Just to have it in the groups Canon collection.

And since it's a fixed zoom, it's automatically zoomed and focused at 50mm too. What could be easier to use?

aahhhhhhh!!!!
Stuart, I think the correct term is "focus-free"! The lens is so slow you're free of having to focus at all, much faster than waiting for the AF to figure out what to do.
Cameras such as this are indeed a ripoff, fooling the uninformed about what they're really getting, and many of those duped may be so embarassed as to not raise a fuss afterward.
