Canon P or Leica M?

I offered him $550, he said $750, so I said no. It has a broken film counter. I'm sure he'll do well with it on eBay, but I'm not in a huge hurry and that's too much money for me.

Obviously, I have $400 for this camera, but I "have" more if I have to. ;-)

750$ for M4-P with broken counter ? And that of course ibefore CLA investment ? - surely seller's desire was way out of proportions...and you did right refusing the deal...

Yeah, I have no regrets. As it happened, I got a P. I overpaid, I'm afraid--a little north of $300, very surprised the bidding got that high--but it's nearly mint, and feels wonderful. I gave it a cleaning, adjusted the VF, and it seems to be working like new. Test roll in it now. I also found a 35/1.8 at a good price, and will take this combo out, along with the Bessa/J9, for a Big Day once I get some work out of the way this week.

This pretty much gets my gear to where I wanted it--two bodies, a 21, a 35, a 50, and an 85, so I'm going to shut down the eBay watch list and spend the summer taking pictures. I'm really excited...thanks for all the advice!
