Canon QL17 G-III....iso

I just got the QL17 recently and i love it. I've used nothing but b&w in it now i loaded it with fuji 800 colour.The question is should the meter needle react different when i switch between 400 and 800 it is not.

If you've changed the ISO lever to reflect the ISO of the film you've installed, then yes...the meter should show different values...more sensitive to light at higher ISO values. You can test the meter by simply changing the lever, and looking through the finder and noting the deflection/aperture value. Make sure you're testing it against the same light value (maybe an outside wall with consistent light) in both instances.
