Canon Rangefinder focus issue

I have a Canon IVSB2 rangefinder and the round focusing patch is visible enough, but the double vision for focusing is only apparent in the top portion of the round patch. Like the top 1/4 of the round patch. Any ideas about that? Would that have anything to do with the vertical adjustment?

Either something is blocking the light path from the rangefinder window internally or a mirror or beamsplitter inside has degraded to the point where it needs replacing. Tough to know without seeing it, but either way, it's going to need to be disassembled and cleaned up.
