Canon Repair Question

I found a Canon IID in my father in law's closet. The camera, three lenses, the flash, tripod, nice leather covers for everything. Not sure why, but it grabbed me and I have spent a bunch of time figuring out what it is, how to load film, how to use it, how to calculate exposure myself, etc. As an aside, this forum has great information and it has helped me a couple of times.

I shot a roll of film with it and it looks like the shutter curtains have a bunch of holes. I'd like to get the curtains replaced. I've looked around online and see a couple of options:

1) Youxin Ye gets a lot of love online, but I didn't see any recent recommendations. Is he still fixing these sorts of cameras?

2) ProCamera in Charlottesville, Virginia. This has the advantage of being somewhere I go for work, so I wouldn't have to ship the camera. I would need to be sure they do this sort of repair.

Does anyone have any thoughts on these repair options or another idea?

Youxin Ye works on bottom-load Canon rangefinders. You can also try Donald Goldberg (DAG) and Cameraquest. Kanto Camera in Japan, is another.

I just got my Canon P back from Vermont Camera--had shutter adjusted and some other work done. They are super friendly, relatively affordable and do good work. They are quite busy and only open three days a week. Turn around was about month door to door.

I’ve heard DAG is limiting himself to Leica work now.
Youxin Ye seems a good bet... even offered to let me watch while he CLA’d my Canon P.
Tell more about Vermont Camera... I’ve not heard of them before.

You can click around on their site, but it is a husband and wife who run a camera store/repair center in Vermont. I think I found out about them on here. I get the sense Jim's specialty is older SLRs but he didn't blink dealing with my Canon P. Turn around and price were more than reasonable to me.

Youxin did a CLA and curtain replacement on my Canon IVsb a few years ago.
Excellent work, great communication and I had the camera back in about 2 weeks.

Thanks to everyone for the responses. I called ProCamera in Charlottesville and they said they have the material and can do the repair. I think I am going to take it to them, largely because I can physically take it there. It will save me the shipping and insurance costs. Also - I am nervous (probably not justifiable but still) about the camera being lost or damaged in transit. I will try to remember to post about the repair once it is done.

I got the camera back and it looks like the repair works. Attached are a couple of shots from a local car show. Film is S200 from the Film Photography Project. 50mm lens.

Should have said this before - I don't really know anything about old cameras, but the place I took this for repair is called Pro Camera. It's in Charlottesville, Virginia on Main Street, just down from University of Virginia. It's not a big store, but they had at least three display cases crammed with old cameras and lenses. They sell darkroom stuff too. If you are on this forum and in the area, it would be worth a visit.

In another repair thread this source of Canon Repair Manuals was noted. In that case it was a Canonette, but they have a wide range of manuals, including Canon P/L series, Canon 7. Also Canonette, AE-1, F-1, T90, EOS, etc., as well as a camera repair lesson set...
