I just received a Canon RF and would like to find out any information possible. There is no model nos. and the ser. nos. is 62582 with a Nikkor-S-C 1:1.4 f=5cm Nippon Kogaku lens, ser. nos. 50050540. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Everything seems to work.
Thanx, Bob

Judging from the serial number, this camera is either a Canon III-A, IV or IVF. All three were produced in the early 1950's. The Nikkor is a relatively early production 50/1.4 lens. Somewhat rare too, only a few thousand of this version were made in LTM.

Canon, at the time, didn't use different blocks of serial numbers for different camera models. Because of this, you will have to figure out various facts about the camera, such as its maximum shutter speed, whether or not it has flash capability, etc, and compare that data (including the serial number) with the data at the following website: http://myweb.tiscali.co.uk/iannorris/leica_copies/index_c.htm
