Canon Serenar 50/1.8 hood?

I can't even remember if I have an original hood for it, think it is a two-piece filter with a Series VI filter holder built in. In a drawer somewhere.

I use Walz vented hoods made for "Canon" for my Canon 50/1.5. It is a very well made, black-finish hood. HEavier than the "Heavystar" hoods. I use them in 40mm for the Canons, and in 40.5mm for the Sonnars. I also have a 46mm Walz hood that I use on a Sonnar with a Step up ring. They are "really nice" hoods.

I checked Peter K's book, and this satin chrome version appears to be the correct hood for the chrome lenses. I have a 50/1.8 Serenar lens that came with a satin hood outfit with two Series VI rings; a 40mm screw-in type and a 42mm clamp-on.

My favorite hood is this old Kenko with a 40mm Series VI ring. The Kenko hood is vented, while the Canon is not.

Thanks all.
Are there experiences with these hoods on a Barnack?
Will the hood block the RF or the viewfinder? Looks a bit close...

There was the uncommon early slip on black rectangular lens hood in the style of the commonly seen slip on lens hood for the Serenar 50mm f1.9 lens.
The shape is the same as for the one for the collapsable f1.9 but a side by side comparison reveals that the one made for the 50/1.8 lens is slightly larger in the hood part and it is correspondingly engraved to show it is for use on the 50mm f 1.8 lens.
