A local collector has one of these. I was thinking of buying it for my M2. Can anyone tell me a bit more about this lens? I'm not a Canon expert.

It can only be an 85/2 or 1.9.
Good lens. Heavy. 48mm filter size. Double Gauss.

Maybe it is the 85mm/2. There is no 90mm/2 based on my information.

I too do not think that Canon made a 90 mm. It may be an 85 or a 100.

I had a 85/1.9 that was fabulous. I heard that the 85/2 wasn't quite as good, but have no first hand experience. I'm interested in re-obtaining that lens, and a body to put it on, perhaps.

I've had good results with the 85/2 Canon -- a little soft perhaps, but acceptable. It's one of the finest lenses I've ever handled as far as fit-and-finish are concerned -- like the Nikon 85/2 in that regard.

Today, I hit the "Buy it Now" button for a 2/100 Canon LTM lens which looks almost like new... ca. 500$ - as I live in Europe deals in that currency are not so bad... this is definitely less than I would have to pay for a user grade 2.8/90 Elmarit or similar. 😀😀😀

Just a stupid question...
I have a VT deluxe and a Leica M6 plus LTM-M-adapter.
The VT has a 100mm finder. Does someone here use a 100mm lens on an M6? Of course, it only has brightlines for 90 or 135. Do you find the difference big? I would simply use the inner pat of the 90 as a guide for framing the motif and hope for the best. Attaching an extra viewfinder is not such a good idea at a very shallow depth of field...

100 and 105 work very well on an M6 (90mm framelines) from 3m onwards.
100/2 will be difficult to focus close up and wide open, though. Very shallow DOF.

Yes, the 105 lens is not easy to focus. I have been using a 105 on a SLR instead.
I've used a 10.5cm F2.5 on the M3 and on a Canon VI-T without problem.
On an M2, it will be a little tight close-up and wide-open.
The inner portion of the M3 framelines give about a 100% frame for the 10.5cm FOV.
