Canon Teasing a Mystery Camera?

It would be great if it was a FF rangefinder,
but me thinks it is replacements for the 1D mark III and/or 50D.
Who wants to guess when Nikon would do a Nikon SP-D ?

My guess would be a digital video camera to compete with the flip cameras, perhaps with a built in projector, so you could shoot your video and play it back all in a small, relatively easy to use package.

as to canon changing lens mounts, I wouldn't put it past 'em. if they felt a change of lens mount or camera design in general would give them a leg up on nikon, they would do it in a heartbeat, especially since people seem to be going back to nikon in droves.

I guess they presented something - but something that was so far from being photo related that none of us have noticed. Maybe ground-breaking only in its impact on Swedish copy shops...

Ah, yes, it is! They have partnered up with Adobe to integrate PDF and Imagerunner bulk scanners more seamlessly: http://www.canon.se/About_Us/News/Solutions_Business_News/release_adobe.asp

As others have pointed out, Canon is a megabig optics corporation that also has a camera department...

What would that be? Swedish-only Canon copier paper?

I'm still hoping for that FF RF camera mentioned earlier. That accepts the FD and the LTM lenses I have plenty of.

the announcement had to do with Adobe PDF and Canon copiers. Something having to do with secure printing to Canon copiers.

There probably is more money in digitizing corporate archives than in all photography...

I can read Swedish. The news is so fabulously boring I won't even consider to translate it. Suffice to say you're already on the right track.
