Canon Tele on a FED 2 ??

I just received a wonderful 135 Canon 3.5 that I bought from a member here and it works very well on my IIIc and IIIf. But when I screwed it on my FED 2, I had trouble getting it off. The focusing mech on the lens was hanging up on the focusing cam on the Fed (which is shaped like a pie). I got it off ok by opening the back and holding the shutter open with B which allowed me to hold back the cam.

Since the cams on Leicas are round and the lens was no problem on them.....will I not be able to use this lens on FSU's?
It seems like a bad way to get a lens off if that is the only solution.

Thanks for the feedback!!! I bought the lens for the Leicas anyway, I just wanted to be sure there wasn't anything wrong with the Fed. Yes I can see the lens coupling mech is a tongue not a complete circle.

Just one thing Ray.

Make sure you didn't pivot the RF wedge on the Fed.
It does pivot on it's arm in order to adjust RF/lens coupling.
