I use two Canon P cameras [one chrome and one black], a Canon 7, a Bessa L, Bessa T [ one chrome and one olive green], a Canon IVsb, a Leica IIIf, a Standard Leica and my Bessa R. I am covered.
"The finder is 1:1 life size and parallax corrected, with always visible built in frames for the 35/50/100 lenses. Compared to the previous VI-L on which it was based, the VI-L's rotating 3 position prism finder was substituted for a fixed finder with all 3 framelines visible at all time."
If I were you, I'd read the thing with the error corrected.
For $200, as between the P and R, I'd base the decision on whether your main lens is a 50 or a 35. If a 50, get the P; if a 35, the R will be better. The vf on the P, if clean, is plenty bright and a joy to shoot w/, not as bright as the R, but bright enough (and I have 57 year old eyes). The P has a quieter shutter, and is very very rugged. It's a classic rf, really.
