Canonet 19 Seals

Just completed my first camera repair/refurb. Replaced the seals on my Canonet 19 QL. Got the seals on line and Instructions from Jon Goodman. Thanks Jon.
Now I must be patient and wait till tomorrow. $10 of seals, $20 of Canonet. Whats to lose?
I think I have entered a new realm.

Placing the seals was a bit fiddly and the jazz in the background had to be turned down. I thought Pat Metheny would be calming.

I got my prints back today from my Canonet QL19 after repairing the seals. As good as new. - I hope.

The prints look good especially as I just compared the exposure to my Digital Canon.

I will post some.

And next time I post a repair I will purt it in the repair section.

Glad your seal replacement went well. I have been lucky in that most of mine are still holding up in the cameras I have that use them. I am in trouble soon with the seals for my Super Press backs and cut film holders. Looking forward to seeing you photos from the Canonet 19. Do you have the older smaller version or the newer larger version?

Hmmm. I think its the smaller older version. As I have a Canonet QL25 that is about the size of a Graflex press camera. Well just exagerating a bit. Might do its seals as well.

Interesting, I installed my Goodman seal kit in my QL17 last night! Now, if it would only quit raining...

I resealed my canonet 28 last week, the film was developed but small strikes were visible on the edge, not in the pictures. Could it be that the shaft seal (connected to the little pushing knob) underneath the bottom plate for unlocking the winder is still leaking? I replaced it but maybe a small leaking is entering the film space.
