Hi! First timer here! I got my hands on a quite nice canonet 28 (not sure which year) with a broken take-up spool. The plastic part kinda hangs loose from the rest, so the film doesn't advance at all. If I push down on the spool (towards the base plate) the spool clings on the mechanism and works just fine. I tried wedging it with a piece of sheet metal, but once the film is inserted this wacky fix stops working. I'm guessing the wedge causes too much friction and the spool just stays still when winding.
I went through a lot of posts and guides and found no quick fix, and I got myself a bit beat up canonet 28 (a bit newer model I presume), that I use as a test animal.
So I managed to open the camera up until the point where I need to unscrew the bottom cog from the spool. The screw just won't nudge! I'm afraid I'll ruin the head soon - shear force don't seem to do the trick.
So does anyone possibly know a simpler fix for this problem, or has some tips for removing the screw and thus the spool?
I know the camera itself is quite worthless, but this has turned into a passion project.
