Hi

I have bought a Canonet QL17 GIII with new seals. Camera is in great condition, but I noticed that you need to put some force on the back of the cam in order to close it. Not that much. But when it is closed, you note a little bulge in the back. When you look at the bootom of the cam, the back door is not perfectly parallel to the rest of the body. There is a gap of approximately 1 or 2mm. I have 2 other similar cams without such a gap.

This is obviously caused by the new seals in the cam.

Do you think that will be a problem? Is it possible that the back door is putting too much pressure on the film itself?

Thanks for your help

The seals will compress in time, so the camera willmget easier to open and close. It shouldn't cause any problems unless it it difficult to release the door latch. You can make the latch pull more easily by squeezing the back of the camera a little.

Thanks. So you think the camera want get damaged this way? The seals are extremely thick, but are obviously made for this camera. But it just looks like it applies quite some force on the camera/back.
