Any suggestions for getting the Focusing Ring to turn a bit smoother?

It's very smooth right now but I feel it could be a tad bit better. That's the perfectionist in me. 😛

Thanks in advance...

You say it is very smooth right now, but want it smoother. What is your point of reference? How smooth must it be?

I would say if it isn't broke, don't fix it. Just enjoy using it.

Maybe I should rephrase the question:

Is there a quick and easy way to make that focus ring a tad smoother? Maybe a single drop of oil? Or is that just courting disaster?

That is courting disaster.

It's a 40 year old camera, good quality for its time, and there are many ways to make it stop working. Unless you want to tear down the helical and lube it correctly, removing the old lube, best to leave it alone.

That's all needed to hear.

🙂 Thanks.

I have two of these, and on both of them the focus ring is not as "silky smooth" as on the Mamiya or the Pentax.

I did expect it to be smoother, but I don't think there's anything wrong with them. Just the way that model is.
