My wonderful G-III QL17 has died, and I desperately want to get it working again. The shutter has stopped working, on all speeds; the aperture blades work fine, and the wind lever stops (i.e. feels like the shutter is cocked), but the shutter button doesn't appear to be connected to anything. It's not the self-timer, and the blades aren't sticky (I have an Olympus 35RD with that issue, so I know what it looks like), it's as if the mechanism has become disconnected inside between the shutter button and the shutter mech.
I'm happy to take it apart to have a look inside and fix it (I have nothing to lose), I just need a pointer as to what to look for.
And if it's completely dead, this might be a chance to pick up one of those nice Olympus 35SP's without my conscience telling me it's unnecessary GAS
Any help from RFF much appreciated!
