I looked up on Matt Dentons website how to do the rangefinder adjustment on Fed 5B, and was trying do the same with mine (its totally messed up), but here is the problem:

I got the nameplate off, then the screws, after this the faceplate should come off, but it doesn't because on the left there is a lightmeter cell or window and something in there is preventing me from lifting the whole faceplate. I dont want to force it too much, because I dont know whats in there and dont want to break it. I have to take this thing off, because I want to get inside and clean the glass in the viewfinder.

Funny that this model ( http://homepage.mac.com/mattdenton/photo/cameras/fed_5.html ) which is also 5B doesnt have a lightmeter.

Can somebody give me a tip?

I am thinking that may be my Fed 5b isnt a real 5B. Because all the 5Bs I see on websites are without a lightmeter. The nameplate must have been exchanged at some point.

IIRC, the name plate on these slides to one side(not sure which direction) and then should lift away from the front of the camera.
The 5B usually does not have a meter so probably the nameplate has been replaced.
