I have an early 60's Carl Zeiss Jena 180/2.8 usually referred to as the "Star Wars" series of Exakta Mt lenses. It has some internal haze and I figured it would be easy enough to just unscrew the front identy ring and remove the front element and get in and clean. Much to my surprise when I did this I found another ring underneath labelled aus Jena with a totally different serial #. This ring has no slots to slip a spanner into and I have been unsuccessful with my collection of rubber cups in even loosening this.

Has anyone had success in finding a service which could clean a lens like this? I know Y. Ye does alot of Leica and LTM lenses, but don't know if he gets into all lenses. It should be a fairly simple job if only access was a bit more easy.

I would not bother with this, but I did get a Pentacon Mt to hopefully use this with my most recent acquisiton, a Pentacon Super.

Any suggestions or past good experiences for lens cleaning would be appreciated.

I was mistaken tagging this a Zebra lens as this was the earlier version from 1961-1963. I have found it is labelled the Rhomb version or more commonly called the "Star Wars" version.......
