caveat emptor: ebay scam on film

Ouch.

What's odd is that loads-o-folks in the Holga/ Lomography/ Crappy photos crowd would happily buy expired Kodak film....so why fake it?

Oh, I dunno...

I am happy to reap the benefits of whatever it is they're doing over there.

I do love those $1.49 lens caps and $19.00 LTM to M-Mount adapters....with free shipping from Shanghai no less!!

My cameras have seen more of the world than I have.

:(

mmmm? you would think that the original complainant and the web page with the complaint would show some developed film as sure proof?

If the seller sending out Kodak instead of Fuji, he is losing money,
In China, Japan, Taiwan and S Korea, Kodak 200 is pricier than Fuji 200...
Why buy from Guangdong China from U.S.? Go to your corner Walgreens, CVS, There are bunch of their house brands, 4-pack $7.99 sale films made in Japan...
OT,
These are more interesting films, Mitsubishi 200

I agree, this have happened to me before. Fomapan 400, label said 400, dev as 400 and the marking on the film said 400. But while cleaning up I peeled off the label and the cannister said fomapan 100.... So Unless the film marking say something different than the sticker label I think this is just reuse or put a sticker on to show content.

Foma used to sometimes do that in-factory when they ran out of the appropriately printed canisters.

I've had 400 marked film that was in a re-labelled 100 canisters and I bought it at the factory in Hradec Kralove when visiting the Czech Republic.

For me this was in 2009 though and I have not for a long time heard of this practise anymore so I suppose they have addressed this inconvenience at Foma.
