Hi, I just got an R-D1, and bought the CV 35mm pancake II (m-mount) and the 50 Nokton (screw mount and adapter).
Switching from the 35 to the 50 is easy enough, but when i tried to reverse things, I began to have problems. Do people who use the screw-mounts with adaptors, manage to get the lens and adapter off the camera together, or does one need to unscrew the lens, and then take the apapter off. This is what I ended up doing, but it slows things down considerably.
I bought the 50 because it translates into 75mm on the R-D1 and I am hoping to use it for shooting bands in clubs. My experience with my SLR has been that I usually start with my 85mm, and then if I am close enough, or want to capture more of the group, I switch. I am hoping to be able to do something similar with my new system. But juggling lenses, adapters, caps and beer all at the same time, while standing, seems more than I am capable of. I am willing to drop the beer (not literally, of course.)
I believe that the R-D1 mount is the same as the Bessa, which is why I've posted in this forum.

Hi, I do not have the RD-1 but the Bessa R3A and Bessa-T. No problems with all my adaptor equipped lenses (CV 4/25, CV 2.5/75, CV 3./90). I can easily remove the lens and adaptor together.

Cheers

You should be able to release the adapter-plus-lens as a whole. There's little point in unscrewing the lens and only then to un-"click" the adapter.

However, you can leave the adapter on the camera and screw on a different lens. For the R-D1 this shouldn't pose a problem as it has a manual frame selector IIRC.

To make it easier to remove the lens and adapter as one unit, I find it useful to screw the lens into the adapter firmly. This is best done with the lens mounted on the camera. If you later need to unscrew the adapter from the lens, it's also easily done with the assembly mounted on the body. I've thought a drop of LockTite (the kind that isn't permanent, whichever color that would be) might be useful on the threads, but it has not been necessary.
