one of my rd1 cameras came from europe and i just realized that the charger cord has a very different plug on the end of it. it's has 2 round prongs (?) on the end.
can i use a cord designed for the north american market on the charger and does anyone know where i might find one for purchase?
thanks.

What model charger?
What model charger?
If the charger itself is 100-240V, any cord that fits should work. My charger is model # A281H, same as previous 4 chargers I've had. Any 2 prong AC cord will work. Unit will work at 100-240V.

As the charger is capable o 110 0r 220 (US (110) or Nearly everyone else). All you need is an adapter for the plug. Try Radioshack or ..........anywhere that has electronics or travel gear. My R D1 charger is an enigma. It does not always display the charging light yet still charges. Also it only sometimes works with the two aftermarket batteries I have. Always charges the 2 Epson original batteries. :?
I'm happy for the RD1X release so I can update my batteries and charger to factory gear

As has been said, you just need an adapter for the plug. One of my R-D1s also had the European plug, but was already fitted with an adapter when I bought it.

I had the cable with 2 straight pin plug which I subsequently swap with the 2 round pin ones from my computer. No problems at all.

cheaper solution is cut the european plug off and install a replacement plug from the hardware store for a buck.
Unfortunately, Radio Shack only sells an expensive adaptor KIT, with adaptors for every type of plug in the world. They don't sell them singly, but you can find single ones on cbay.

Mine came with an American 3-prong Plug, luckily the cable from my Ixus V2 Battery Charger with the European 2-prong plug fits on it too and I've had no problems at all.
