Cheap C-41 processing?

There are several references to both 'fixer' and 'bleach-fix', so I believe this covers both. Need to research silver recovery more. The good news is that it is simple to discard developer and stabilizer...for the blix, I might just store the leftover and do a once-a-year silver recovery.

Kodak wrote the book on chemical disposal

Good article. My dad, who was a home part-time pro photographer from 1948-1968, just dumped some B&W chemicals down the basement wye drain. The normal drain piping from the sink to the city drain never plugged. Many years later, when tearing out the darkroom, and washing down the floor, the wye plugged up! The drain company had to use a crowbar to bust loose the hardened chemicals! I kept the hardened mass to remind me never to do this in the future!

I have been self developing all of my film for about a year now, but decided to give a roll to CVS to see if they could do their job, which in the past they have proven they can't. So I just got the film back.. two negatives cut right down the middle! Morons.
