cheap film recommendations for bulk loader

Last year I tried all the cheapo film I can get on of ISO 100 and 400, at the end I settle with Kentmere 100 + D76 for my single primary film type.

The Kentmere 100 can be push to 800 in D76 with very nice result, and its ability to stay *really* flat is a big plus if you scan film.

p/s: I have a bottle of D76 stock that is kept in the dark a year and a half ago, it surprise me when I use it and it still works!

Interesting! May I ask why push 100 to 800 instead of 400 to 800?

HP5 is the only way to go I'd say. Amazing film and so cheap.

I have 12 cans of HP5 in the freezer. I am not worried about b/w film going away because there are a good variety of 100 iso films from independent manufacturers. I am however worried about fast films such as TMY, TX, Delta and HP5 because so far there are no viable 3rd party substitute of that quality.

the kentmere 400 film has more grain that I'd like it to have, and since the iso 100 push so well I've no need to worry about having iso 400 film around for less light shots, and of course personal preference I kind of like the pushed look more than grainy look.

If the cost is the main factor, I recommend you the Fomapan 100 and Fomadon R09 developer. Fomadon R09 and all Rodinal-clones are the cheapest developers, since you can dilute them extremely.
I have favorable experiences with this film-developer combo.
